I've come to the realization that all creativity is gone from this generation, or at least the people I associate with. No one has any spark of the slightest tiny bit of pure imagination and it SICKENS me. I'm so sick of hearing the same lines, jokes, songs, and just plain boring people. People don't care anymore. I guarantee that it would be almost impossible to find more than a small percentage of the 2011 Senior Class that would actually enjoy reading a poem, let alone writing one. I wrote a slam poem last night. It felt amazing, but no one else would really understand what it was actually about, or they'd be offended by it.
Here's an example of how it went.
You walked right in
..barged straight through the door with that sick smirk on your face
the kind of smirk that makes people believe you've accomplished something amazing
like acing a test or even dominating the world..
..I'll give you one thing..you dominated someone's world
my world.
You walked in with that smirk on your face
You said you had something to say to me
something to give me
and when you opened your mouth you gave me the sweet delicate lace of lies
Like a school girl that would take anything, I took that lace
I put it on and decorated it with the accessories shame
I wore it around just to show you it didn't bother me how much of a worthless scum you were
I put it on...and before I left I smeared on the cherry red smudge of posed happiness

Yesterday?
Yesterday I spent the day with Mr. Beadles and Dale. I really loved having Dale at school with me, it made getting through the day a lot easier. I noticed when I was presenting my snakes, though, the Freshmen really don't care about anything. They sit and stare at you like you're a complete idiot(which I am because I haven't voted(Yay for government vocab)). They really show no compassion or heart for anything. I really hope I wasn't that bad as a Freshman. Besides that it was a really good day. I enjoyed showing of my most prized possessions.

A New Snake, Yet Again.
....this story continued...
Last night my baby corn died. He was doing fine in his terrarium, he was moving around being a snake. I picked him up, and he wrapped around my hand. Suddenly his head went limp. He would pick it up occasionally, but it would go limp like before. I took him into the living room to ask Dale if the snake looked normal. It was then that the snake went completely limp and didn't move except for the occasional twitch or gasp. We called the people that owned the place where we got him from, and they said some of the babies they had their were doing the same thing. Luckily the guy told us the corn would be replaced, but it's still really depressing.

Once children are grown, their parents are no longer responsible for them.
This picture shows two little girls taking care of themselves by washing their hands. I chose this picture because it shows that no matter how old you are, your parents are always going to be there to take care of you. You will always be you mommy's little girl. Or daddy's little boy. Even the other way around. Yes, you need to grow up and live life on your own, but parents will be there to support you.
This shows mama's point in life. Her kids are grown, yet they still live with her. She still takes care of them. That is the only thing she lives for, it seems. She loves her kids and would never do anything to jeopardize that love. Even after Walter messed up, she stood up for him when Beneatha was putting him down.
Most people don’t try hard enough to see the other fellow’s problem.
Puzzle's are one big problem. You have to find the colors that correspond with each other, the right shapes, the right edges. In the end you find it's more of a mess than a leisure. Problems aren't leisure activities, though. This picture shows that. Instead of taking the time to figure the puzzle out, you move on to something simpler. If you took the time to put it together, you would find how beautiful it was.
A lot of the characters in the play had problems. In fact, they all did. Walter wanted the fast way to riches, mama wanted her crazy family to be happy, Beneatha wanted to change the world by being a doctor, Ruth just wanted her husband to stay grounded, and Travis wanted 50 cents. They family never took the time to listen to each others problems, instead they yelled and argued. Mr. Lindner also didn't take the time to see the family's problems. All he saw was the fact they were of a different race. If he would have put their pieces together he would have seen how they needed/deserved that house.
You should hold onto your dreams; if you work hard enough for them, they will come true.
Sometimes it takes more than saying your going to follow your dreams. Sometimes you have to stand up, brush off the dust of procrastination and move forward with life. This picture shows a man which seems to be sitting on top of a mountain. That hike and journey took all he had, which is why he rests. Which means once you're their you can rest and look back at all you've achieved. The beautiful color also shows that in the end, everything will be gorgeously put together.
Walter wasn't big on taking the most the accurate way towards his dreams. He tried short cuts and lost a lot of valuable things, like the love and respect of his family and of course the money. If Walter would have taken the time and effort to climb up the mountain to his dreams, maybe he wouldn't have been stuck in a bigger rut than what he started out in.

A Rant for Today
Lately everything seems to be going out of whack. The gravitational pull of my life is giving up on me and letting me and my mind float off into realms I'd never thought of. Like firstly, the idea of dropping my Academic Honors diploma for a Core 40 so I don't have to worry about taking anything other than Government. Also, for the first time in my life, I've considered dropping out completely to get my GED. It's not like it would do any good, though. I have no idea what I want to do in college. This has made me not want to go, considering prices are too high, Obama is cutting the funds for Pell Grants, no college in Indiana has a Herpetology program (the closest one is in Texas) and I don't feel like going to school for another four years.
Also, I'm tired of my body always giving out on me. It wouldn't be that bad if my doctors knew what they were doing. "Oh, you're nauseous? Here's some nasal spray and antibiotics for a strep throat." WHAT?! I don't even know how they came to that conclusion. I told them I was dizzy, and they checked breathing. Did they bother to check anything else? No. I give up.
It also makes me really angry that Republicans are cutting over half the funds for Planned Parenthood for the deficit. Fact number 1 - People go there who cannot afford birth control. So what happens when they can't get the birth control? They get pregnant at a young age. This means the government will be paying to help out these single mothers. Fact number 2 - They helped with testings of STD's and other problems. There's going to be an STD outbreak. Oops. Plague of STDs. I bet the government would swear they didn't know it would happen. Fact number 3 - Planned Parenthood is about more than abortions(which is the main reason why they are cutting funds). They help women who don't have anywhere else to go.
Why can't the government take money from they're own pockets? Instead of from the people who need it.

SNAKES IN THE HOUSE!
Kaa, my baby corn snake died during Winter break. It was extremely heartbreaking. The poor little guy didn't have a chance. Dale saw how heartbroken I was about losing my baby, and he got me a new snake for Christmas. He is an Albino Nelson's Milk Snake. His name is Roswell, and he is a jerk. He is absolutely gorgeous, but he is vicious. I'm pretty sure he would try and kill me if he could.
Last week Dale and I went on a lovely adventure in the snow. We were going to a reptile shelter, and we ended up getting stuck on a hill driveway. We couldn't go forward or backwards, and we had to wait for the owner to come and get us out of his driveway. He was 15 minutes away. After the horrifying encounter, we left bringing home another baby ball python. He was precious. =)
Next week, we are planning to get another ball python. I know, we're pretty much addicted.
