Inhumanity Toward Other Humans

This picture shows this theme, thoroughly. This man is just trying to escape the Nazi's cruel torture. It looks as if maybe he is reaching towards God. He is beaten and bruised and his head is shaved, due to what Germany thought would solve all their problems. He stands in front of Aushwitz where most of the book took place.

Elie experiences cruelity from the Nazis. He also sees the cruelity that he himself is capable of. He left his own father to die as his name was the man's last words. As the cruelity continues, the "prisoners" themselves become cruel. They beat and kill each other just for a scrap of food. They beat and kill each other if they are a burden, or extra baggage. They'd even go low enough to steal teeth and rags of clothing.

This is very hard to read. You need to change the color of the font.
